The deal, in plain terms.
These are the terms of the deal between you and Segue, written to be read. By creating an account or using Segue, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
Effective July 20, 2026
1. Who we are
Segue is operated by CSA Intelligence Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada ("Segue," "we," "us"). These terms cover segue.ai, the Segue web app, and the Segue MCP server.
2. Your account
You must be 16 or older. You agree to sign up with an email address you control and to verify it when asked. You're responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account — including activity by the AI clients you connect. When a connected client saves, loads, or searches on your behalf, that's you acting through a tool you authorized.
3. The service
Segue is a personal context store: connected AI clients can save blocks of Markdown, receive a short handle, and load content back by that handle. Handles resolve only within the account that owns them. Segue is a single-user service; each account is for one person.
4. Your content
You own what you save. We claim no ownership of your contexts. You grant CSA Intelligence Inc. a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and transmit your content solely to operate, secure, and improve the service — including transmitting it to the AI clients you authorize and rendering it to you in the web app. This license ends when you delete the content, subject to backups aging out as described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your content, show ads against it, or use it to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.
You're responsible for your content: only save what you have the right to save, and don't rely on Segue for data that carries its own regulatory safeguards (for example, patient health records) — Segue isn't designed or certified for regulated data.
5. Connected AI clients
Authorizing a client on our consent screen instructs us to serve your content to that client within the scopes you approved, until you revoke it in Settings. Third-party AI services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies; once your content is loaded into another vendor's tool, what that vendor does with its copy is between you and them. We're responsible for handing content only to clients you authorized — not for what those services do with it afterward.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Segue to break the law or to harm others. In particular, don't: store or distribute content that's illegal, infringing, or that you have no right to hold; use contexts to host or distribute malware; attempt to access other accounts, probe or overload the service, or evade rate limits or plan limits; resell or white-label the service; or misrepresent who you are during OAuth flows. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material and will report it as the law requires. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section.
7. Plans, billing, and refunds
Segue offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Purchases are processed by Polar Software Inc. as merchant of record; your purchase is also subject to Polar's checkout terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; you can cancel anytime through the billing portal, effective at the end of the paid period. First-time purchases are refundable within 14 days — email support@segue.ai or request through Polar.
If you cancel, downgrade, or a payment lapses, your account returns to the free tier and everything you've saved stays readable, editable, exportable, and deletable — only new saves pause while you're over the free cap. Paying buys headroom, never access to your own words.
We may change prices or plan limits with at least 30 days' notice; price changes apply from your next renewal, and limit changes never remove access to content you've already saved.
8. Availability, changes, and the exit promise
Segue is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We work to keep it fast, secure, and up, but we don't promise uninterrupted service, and we may add, change, or retire features.
One commitment we make deliberately: if we ever discontinue Segue entirely, we'll give account holders at least 60 days' notice and keep export available through that period. Your contexts are plain Markdown precisely so that leaving is always possible.
9. Termination
You can stop using Segue and delete your account at any time, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms — with notice and a chance to fix the problem where that's practicable, and with export access preserved except where content is illegal or the law prevents it. Sections 4 (license wind-down), 10–14 survive termination.
10. Our intellectual property
The Segue service, software, design, and branding belong to CSA Intelligence Inc.. These terms grant you use of the service, not ownership of any of it. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we can use them without obligation to you.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you; nothing in these terms overrides consumer rights that can't be waived.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CSA Intelligence Inc. won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is capped at the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or CAD $50. These limits don't apply where the law says they can't — including liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection law.
13. Indemnity
You'll defend and indemnify CSA Intelligence Inc. against third-party claims arising from your content or your breach of these terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Courts located in Toronto, Ontario have jurisdiction, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts. Talk to us first — most problems are fixable at support@segue.ai.
15. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we'll email account holders at least 30 days before the new version takes effect and post it here with a fresh effective date. Continuing to use Segue after that date means the new terms apply.
16. General
These terms plus the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Segue. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. Not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale, in which case they continue to apply. Neither of us is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
